Connect Microsoft and Bing Ads to ChatGPT
Microsoft Advertising, often called Bing Ads, can be reviewed in ChatGPT through an Adport MCP connection. Start by confirming the advertising account rather than relying on campaign names imported from another platform. Then ask a search-campaign question with its dates, currency, and conversion definition visible so the answer can support a real decision.
Distinguish the customer from the advertising account
Microsoft Advertising uses customer and account context. A signed-in business identity can have access to more than one advertiser, so a familiar customer name is not enough to identify the account a report should use. Confirm the account ID and the campaigns it owns.
Connect Microsoft in the intended Adport client project, save the advertising-account selection, and enable agent access. Microsoft documents OAuth consent, tokens, and API access prerequisites. Use the Microsoft Advertising integration guide for the connection path offered in your environment. Sandbox and production access should remain clearly distinguished.
Authorize Adport in ChatGPT and check the inventory
Complete the shared ChatGPT plugin setup with OAuth. Install the custom MCP plugin and select Adport in the conversation. Check the Adport project during authorization, particularly when your Microsoft login can see several client businesses.
Use Adport to list Microsoft Advertising accounts available to this connection. Show the account IDs and currencies. For ACCOUNT_ID, list campaigns with IDs and available status. Make no changes.
If the authorization expires, use the provider and plugin reconnection flows. Posting a Microsoft password, refresh token, or developer token in a chat is not a reporting setup step. A successful inventory read is the first useful check after reauthorization.
Ask a search-specific performance question
Choose one account and compare completed periods. Show the underlying numbers with any efficiency ratio so a low-volume result is not presented as a stable trend. Ask ChatGPT to distinguish a reported zero from a metric the tool did not return.
For Microsoft Advertising account ACCOUNT_ID, compare the last 30 completed days with the previous 30. Show campaign ID, spend, clicks, and available conversions and conversion value. Keep currency visible and calculate ratios from the underlying totals. Identify three follow-up questions supported by the report. Do not change anything.
If the report is still being prepared or a provider read fails, wait for a completed result or name the missing scope. An incomplete reporting response should not be summarized as an account with no spend.
Treat imported campaign names as labels, not equivalence
A Microsoft campaign imported from Google can retain a familiar name while having different delivery, account settings, or conversion measurement. Match IDs within each platform and examine the current values rather than assuming the two campaigns are identical copies.
For a cross-platform review, use the Google Ads and ChatGPT guide alongside a separate Microsoft report. Compare periods and conversion definitions deliberately. Keep each currency separate, and do not attribute every difference to search quality when the tracking or campaign configuration differs.
Reconcile dates, filters, and conversion definitions
When the answer differs from Microsoft Advertising's dashboard, check the exact account, reporting dates, account time zone, campaign filters, and selected conversion measures. Recent conversion reporting and a changed goal definition can affect how a period should be interpreted.
Ask ChatGPT to list the settings it actually received and the ones you still need to verify. Do not let it imply that a provider field was inspected when the tool never returned that field. The next task should close a specific evidence gap, such as checking a goal or reproducing the same date filter.
Check the target entity before a budget preview
Use the report to choose one supported action, then identify the exact account and campaign or budget entity. Review whether a proposed budget operation can affect more than the campaign that first drew your attention. Inspect the old and new values, currency, and any provider or policy warning in the preview.
Apply only after reviewing the matching operation and read the platform state back afterward. If the intended campaign, amount, or approval changes, request a new preview. Keep a brief decision note with the account ID and follow-up period so the next ChatGPT review can evaluate the result instead of repeating the same recommendation.
